Its nice how a trip to the library yields some returns…

Everybody has a different idea of Love - Andy Warhol

And sometimes a great Man has the weirds thoughts too…

I’m afraid to feel happy because it never lasts. -Andy Warhol

I’m with you on this one , Mr Warhol. But I try everyday…I try :)

Existence theory.

If a tree falls in a forest but no one is around. Does it make a sound?

If you miss someone dearly but you don’t tell a soul. Does it count?

All that Jazz…

April 23, 2008

I was about to spend my evening chilling away at the local Starbucks…until my itchy fingers went and sms-ed Ber. The result? dinner with her at Bishan. It really wasn’t bad…and to top it off we had a great convo and caught Awake( a new movie). It was really good with the twists and not so good with the painful scene where the operation starts and he’s still awake(mentally and feeling the pain). That was painful to watch but all in all the movie was superb.

We really talked alot…about Jovi and Gary and Belle, oh the whole lot of the people in our lives! We also came up with a few conclusions like:

Love is not a duty; but a desire.”

Don’t be with the one you can live with; be with the one you can’t live without.”

We chatted for so long until it was past 12…and Ber went upstairs to bathe. She informed her parents that I was around…and well…I was left to face her parents while she bathed. Her dad was procrastinating all the time about her late nights, her mix of frens( me included, i suppose ) and about the general lack of discipline in teens these days. Her mum was the calm one…agreeing to wad her husband said but also engaging me with proper conversation regarding the safety of the neighborhood ( local area crime and the suspicious bangalas nearby). We managed to keep the topic rolling one after another with a few breaks of silence inbetween… but its all gd.

We left the house when she was done…on the pretext of sending me off. We continued the chat downstairs for another half an hr until we decided it was enough…she still had work tml. Lol!

On top of that we’re both gonna clean up her house on Sunday…o.O lol!

Patience is never a easy task.

April 22, 2008

Most fruitful…I must say. I had a calming lunch with my sister(who happen to be sick – backache!?) and soon after I left for my meeting to discuss the rental of a space in Haji Lane for Alternative Apparel to be sold there. The Meeting went pretty well and I guess if my partner has a green light , we should have the place done by June :)

I got down to pass Ah Fong the thumbdrive at his workplace and it was my 1st time there! The place is impressive…the menu slightly steeper den Buono, but I suppose its a gd deal and it has excellent ambience. We chatted over a coke(my 2nd one of the day) and I tell you …we should stay away from it. By the time I got it down…I had this fizzy acidic feel in my chest. Heartburn perhaps? but I tink the coke did it :(

I went down to Kino to grab my mags before meeting Belle and Ma Lin , Ko Zay and Ko Paing @ Buono for dinner. My presence wasn’t exactly planned but thankfully Ma Lin’s greeting really calmed me down…I thought it was gonna be awkward! Ma Lin and I chatted before the food was served…talking about her studying here and her wanting to find a job here. One would have thought it would be easy to do so with a law degree , but if you consider the fact tat she’s a foreigner…den thats where the issue is at. Belle was in her natural surroundings and she aptly got up and started serving – the usual workaholic attitude that we both have la… Ma Lin was my lifesaver, talking to me and clearing up any bit of awkwardness, coz both Ko Zay and Ko Paing were pretty quiet or could only converse in Burmese.

The dinner was great and the food good as usual…but I didn’t get to fully enjoy it due to the acidic feel in my chest. We took a bus back to town, the rest chatting and laughing as Ko Zay played with Belle. I couldn’t understand a word so I just looked at the body language and listened to the tone of their voices. It wasn’t until Ma Lin said this :” Patience and Perseverance will conquer any mountain.” It was the only English phrase I managed to catch. When we got off the bus ,we fooled around as Belle and I headed to the toilet…and went to Lucky Plaza where Cow was there.

Ma Lin and the rest shopped for some stuff to bring home and I left shortly after.

My Reflections

April 21, 2008

Today…things got done. Had a nice outing wif Ah Fong…got down to Sim Lim to have a look at the latest tech, coz he wanted to get a laptop.

Prior to the meeting…I bought a book. Dun ask me why and expect a reason, half of you readers should noe my madness when it comes to books. Well this book, was like another step forward. Crushing the procrastination within me and getting myself down to ACTUALLY LEARNING BURMESE. Yes I got myself a Burmese language book. Decent enough phrase and thankfully written with the pronunciations converted to english sounding terms. Its gonna take a few afternoons to properly decipher it and even start making sentences….but its a step nevertheless.

Jealousy is a weird and frightful thing,

It poisons your heart yet makes you sing.

Jealousy in itself is a funny feeling.

Makes people laugh at you yet you laugh after you done something.

Don’t ask why people feel it so;

It will somehow make it start to grow.

Fed upon the thoughts you sow,

You don’t dare to just say no.

you are just plain jealous , you fool.

OK.

April 19, 2008

Sometime back in 2003…I was given a song by a girl I loved. It got a single word out of me….spoken out aloud to no one, only to be heard by me. This single word bounds me to this day.

—————————————————————————–

A: yeh?

B: Dun fall in love with me again. Ok?

A: Ok…

some things supposedly agreed on…dun turn out the way its expected.

-somewhere in Jan 08-

It was only an hopeless fancy,

Its passed like an April Day,

But a look and a word and the dreams they stirred

They’ve stolen my heart away!

They say Time heals all things,

They say you can always forget;

But the smiles and the tears across the years

They twist my heart strings yet!

Today and Tomorrows

April 18, 2008

Whatever I did for the whole day didn’t matter….when I heard the live band @ Ben and Jerry’s play this song . It felt like a sign. It made me miss you. I miss you.

Why is it that everything can be forgiven with just a simple apology? And why is it only when its you? I need to get my ass down to Changi Beach man…

Peacemeal//Piecemeal

April 17, 2008

The days seem shorter in Singapore…I miss the times in Thailand. I made the most of today…getting up early to meet Ade to pass her the clothes she bought.

Cheryl was next on the meeting list, the girl had a interview at Chinatown and we grabbed a meal near People’s Park Complex. We head down to Ann Siang Hill after that…showing her the nice shopping places like Front Row, Asylum, Fred Perry and Style:Nordic. Took a cab down to Wisma after that…all the while we are catching up abt the going-ons in our respective lives. Cheryl’s one of those people who really connects with me…a typical Gemini :) I love her alot coz she always hit home.

Our shopping got new direction after a drink at Starbucks, so we head down to Isetan to buy some shoes (her heels were killing her) and we got down to Agnes B to check out the wallets. We left empty handed but we got an eyefull and we browsed thru mags at Kino. It was lotsa fun! And we ventured into LV…Cheryl was surprised when the doorman said “Gd Evening” coz she never expected that…LOL! Well I guess we are just not used to high-end boutiques :)

We head down to Tiffany’s and check out the wedding bands I was looking for…my god my lucky wife wears a $2000 platinum wedding band ok? Plain band…and I’m not even talking about the Engagement Ring. That would be the 1 with the diamonds. *faints*

We ended at Heeren where we met Mo and Amy. I went around saying hi to everyone working at level 4 :P There wasn’t much to buy….but when we got out to leave…we saw Alex who was going to meet Lionel. So we hanged out for a short while chatting before we head home. Lionel was damn funny la…talking and gesturing wildly. His gf reminded me of Lucy Liu.

Well today was good.Tml’s gotta be better :)

She spoke of making me her best man. It only reminded me that I can only marry you and no other…

Day of no-commitments.

April 16, 2008

I had a great day slacking…its amazing when you realise that you no longer have work commitments after 6 long years of non-stop, back-breaking work.

I wiped out $30 getting to CMPb for my ippt charge(didn’t attempt it =X) and spent an hr waiting. I finally could take it no longer and stepped out for a puff. Surprisingly the guy sitting next to me came out too…and I bumped into him as I was trying to look for the smoking area. Hafiz( his name ) was like me…a first timer, and we sat down and chatted about our jobs and how to skip IPPT forever by faking some injuries and having a medical review to approve it …LOL! Our convo was going on just fine until a Indian guy from the room came out for a smoke. We casually asked him wad number was on the board when he came out. To our horror, the Indian guy’s number was 19! OUR NUMBERS WERE 20 AND 23!!!!!

We ran to the waiting room and the officer was already there looking for us. We thought we are dead meat la…but to our surprise, everything was over in 10sec (yeh really). We went in, report our names, gave a reason why we didn’t take the test and went out to apply for our RT dates. Super fast! Hafiz and I walked out to the bus stop and exchanged numbers and got to noe more about each other. But we were heading in different directions so we split at the bus stop.

Belle called and we chatted for the whole journey home. I slacked out till 2…meanwhile setting up everyone so that I cud pass them their souvenirs from BKK.

I got Ron his jacket and caught up with him a lil bit…Den went down to Plaza sing to meet Bernice…We head down to Mustafa together to help her choose a watch for Gary. The stupid girl wanted to get him my watch la…but we didn’t find a nice color so we got him a Seiko instead. After the purchase , we went to Jalan Besar and had some turtle soup! It was Ber’s 1st time and sadly her flu blocked most of the taste…but she liked it :) We talked abt BKK and how to present Gary’s present to him…so I suggest she put it in a packet of biscuits and let him take it out of the bag , so he will get the watch when he was expecting biscuits.

We got ourselves back to town…and we were shopping at Agnes B!!!! Woo! Damn fun coz its honestly my fav shop…I just love the brand. I asked my friend if there was any work available, but he asked me to email the office. Ber bought a bag and a wallet – head down to Zara and then Mango and when we got out…we saw ….HANDBAG AND SHOE SALE. Ber nearly screamed and ran for the entrance! lol!

But we searched and scoured for gd deals….only to end up wif a nice pair of silver pumps which cost $26. ONLY 1 PAIR SIAN! But it was good la… We left Taka after that to meet Gary @ Plaza Sing…

When Gary got his present , you cud see the whites of his eyes. He was like :”Eh why got tissue in the biscuits(we wrapped the watch in tissue) ???” And when Ber explained the situation…well…you could see the gleam in his eyes. I turned around so they could “reciprocate” properly …;) and we sat outside for a while, chatting abt the Mustafa trip and sundry…before we all went back…happy people.

I only asked you once…and after which I stopped. It didn’t really matter anymore, after the long month. Sometimes you just let things grow the way it noes best : on its own.
